I made this Memorial Day trip with an old college friend; a bunch of us met here in the dorms in 1974. There are approximately six of us who still stay in contact as adults. Fields Landing. Most of us moved out of the dorms and into this little town one highway exit north of campus. Fields Landing boat yard. Fields Landing vacant lot. One of the houses where I used to live is gone now. It sat on the vacant lot next to the fence, back left. It was falling down when I lived there in 1975, so it does not surprise me that it is gone. The other two places where I lived in Field's Landing are still there. It was sad to see the market and bar closed down, but everything else is exactly the same. Old Town Sacramento We spent the last night on the Delta King Hotel in Old Town Sacramento. The boat looks great and it was a nice conclusion to a fun trip. |
